Choosing a Surface Conditioning Belt

·         Course (Brown) is equivalent to 60-80 grit

o   Heavy material removal

o   Removing deep scratches, weld splatter, or rust

o   Initial blending of welds or seams

·         Medium (Maroon) is equivalent to 120-150 grit

o   General-purpose blending

o   Smoothing welds and seams

o   Light rust or oxidation removal

·         Fine (Dark Blue) is equivalent to 180-220 grit

o   Smoothing out minor imperfections

o   Light surface cleaning

o   Pre-polishing metal surfaces

·         Very Fine (Light Blue) is equivalent to 240-320 grit
